We all want to make the world a better place for our kids, but one book asks whether kids themselves can change the world.
This book is by a mother - daughter writing team who introduce us to two (fictional) superheroes searching the world for real kids who are game changers.
The good news is...
Spoiler alert
The book highlights three real kids:
- Phoebe in California - she collects food and delivers it to the San Francisco Food Bank;
- Jaylen in Florida - he started an organization called Jaylen's Challenge to help stop bullying; and
- Hannah in Ohio - she fights poverty through an organization called Hannah's Socks.
If the book itself isn't exactly a great work of children's literature, the message of fighting apathy and effecting positive change in the world around us is one that deserves high praise.
Here's to hoping that each of our little dears is inspired to help those in need and empowered to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
